How to add your business to Google Maps
Adding your business to Google Maps is free. You do it by creating a Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business).
Steps
- Go to business.google.com and sign in with a Google account you'll keep using for the business.
- Search for your business name. If it already exists, claim it. If not, choose to add it.
- Pick your main category carefully. For a roofer, that's "Roofing contractor."
- If customers don't come to you, choose a service area instead of showing your address.
- Add your phone number and website.
- Verify. Google usually asks for a short video of your business, signage or tools, or a phone check.
After it's live
- Set your hours and add your services.
- Upload at least 10 photos of your own work.
- Start asking every customer for a review.
