Who we are

LocalRankScore is run by Nikola Govorko, Horvatova 89, 10410 Velika Gorica, Croatia, EU. We decide how your personal data is used, so under EU law we are the "controller." You can reach us at hello@localrankscore.com.

We're based in the European Union, so the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to everything we do with personal data, even though most of our customers are in the United States.

What we collect and why

When you ask for a free check, we collect your business name, city and state, website and email, plus your competitor's website if you add one. We use them to run the check and send you the results. We do this because you asked for the service (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).

To build your report, we look up public information about your business and the businesses near you, from Google Maps and from public websites. This is information about businesses, not private information about people. We use it because we have a legitimate interest in giving you an accurate report (Article 6(1)(f)). We don't store Google Maps data. We fetch it fresh each time and keep only Google's place ID.

When you buy the full report, Stripe handles the payment. We receive your name, email, billing country and the last four digits of your card, never the full card number. We use this to deliver the report and to issue receipts and invoices, which Croatian tax law requires (Articles 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(c)).

If you sign up for the weekly tips, we keep your email and, if you give it, your first name. We send the tips only because you asked for them (Article 6(1)(a)). You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email.

If you email us or message us on WhatsApp, we keep the conversation so we can help you (Article 6(1)(b) or 6(1)(f)).

To stop misuse, we keep a short record of each check: the business, website, email and IP address. If you get a refund, we keep the business name, website, Google place ID and email so that business can't use the service again. We do this because we have a legitimate interest in preventing abuse (Article 6(1)(f)).

Our hosting provider records basic technical data, like your IP address and browser type, to keep the site safe and working (Article 6(1)(f)).

Emails we send

We send you the free report you asked for. We don't send marketing emails unless you sign up for the weekly tips. Every marketing email shows who it's from, says clearly when it's promotional, includes our postal address and has a working unsubscribe link. When you unsubscribe, we stop within 10 business days at the latest, and usually right away.

Who else handles your data

We use a few companies to run the service. They handle your data only on our instructions.

We don't sell your personal data, and we don't share it with advertisers.

Data sent outside the EU

Some of these companies store data in the United States. When that happens, we rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the company is certified, or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

Cookies

We use only the cookies the site needs to work, such as the ones Stripe uses to keep checkout safe. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, so you won't see a cookie banner. If that changes, we'll ask for your consent first.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, send it to you in a file you can use elsewhere, or stop using it. If you gave consent, you can take it back at any time. Email hello@localrankscore.com and we'll answer within one month.

You can also complain to the Croatian data protection authority, the Agencija za zaštitu osobnih podataka (AZOP), at azop.hr.

Scores and automated checks

Our scores are calculated automatically from public data about businesses. They're estimates to help you, and they don't make legal or similar decisions about any person.

Security

Our site uses HTTPS. Card details go straight to Stripe and never touch our servers.

Children

LocalRankScore is for businesses. It isn't meant for anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If the change is important, we'll tell you by email. See also our Terms of Service.
